Day one of testing all wrapped up!

That's enough for now.

More testing will be done I'm sure when it comes to changing the template.

Test Seven (adding music to a post)

Okay so I've looked around and it would see that it's not too hard to add a link to a song

I'll try:

It's the Austrian National Anthem!!!

Hmmm... seems to work but really that's just a link to a music file on the internet. Clicking on it would take you away from the blog.

I'll see if I can find a way to embed it in a mini-player.

Hmmm... that seems to work!

Okay the code looks like this (Ignore the ...)

<...embed autostart="false" height="40" loop="true" playcount="2" src="http://www.themusicfile.mp3" width="300"/><.../embed>

Now if only I had sound on this PC so I could test it properly!

Test Six (adding a slideshow)

Now I'm not the biggest lover of these things as I think they're a bit too "trendy" (god that makes me sound old) but I'm going to see if I can put a slideshow into this blog post.

By the way, for anyone reading this, I own the images and other stuff I'm using on here as examples and yes I know they're nothing amazing! It's only for testing purposes!

I chose the 'black and white film' style of slideshow as I think it looks kind of interesting!

Test:

This also seems to work.

As you can see I used a site called photobucket to 'host' (make) my slideshow. There are lots of sites you can use to make slideshows.
I'm sure I can find something to make them that doesn't advertise itself on the slideshow window.

Test Five (using an image to link to a site)

Okay here's where I see if I can combine a couple of the previous things.
I'm going to see if I can get an image to be a link to a website.

Test:
I'm going to try this: (though possibly not the neatest way this can be done):

Okay again that seems to work.

Here's the code (ignore the ...) :

<...a href="http://www.norton-associates.ie/mainsite/"><...img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v680/pihjin1/ChristmasSmall.jpg"><.../a...>

So it's combining the two opening tags
<...a href> (for the location of the website)
and <... img scr> (for the location of the image)
with the one closing tag of <.../a>

Remember the tag for the website comes BEFORE the one for the image.
So you put the website down first and then cover it with the image.
(I tried it the other way around and while the image still shows, it doesn't link to anything.)

Now I'm going to publish this and check it all again.

Test Four Part B

Okay it seems my hyper text didn't work as planned.

Let's try again. I think the problem might have been that I didn't use the complete website address last time.

Norton's Amazing Site Again!

Okay this time is works (I can tell by previewing the blog) and the code looks like this:
(Ignore the ...)

<...a href="http://www.norton-associates.ie/mainsite/">Norton's Amazing Site Again!<.../a...>

Test Four (adding linking text / hyper-text)

Okay here's where it might get interesting...

I'm guessing adding a link is easy enough:
http://www.norton-associates.ie/mainsite/

(Ignore the ... in the following sentence, these are just put in so that the code I'm writing is disabled)

I just use the open and close <...a...> html.
I write <...a...> right before the full website address and <.../a...> afterwards with no spaces.

Next is a hyper text link like this:

Norton Associate's Amazing Website!!!.

The code for this looks link this (again ignore the ...)
<...a href="www.norton-associates.ie">Norton Associate's Amazing Website!!!<.../a...>

I'll publish this and make sure all the above works ok.

Third Test (adding video)

Okay so the template does cut off images.

Test three...
I'm not sure if I want to do this but can I add in a video?

Test:

... yes I can!

Very old video of some dancers in Galway!
